The Library at Alert Level 2

⚠️ Invercargill will move to Alert Level 2 at 11:59pm on Tuesday 7 September.

We will reopen on Wednesday 8 September at 9am with health and safety measures in place. If you’re coming into the library please be aware of the following changes to our services during Alert Level 2:

Key messages

  • If you are feeling unwell stay home and get a test
  • Check-in using QR code or logbook on arrival and sanitise your hands
  • Remember to wear a mask
  • Maintain social distancing of 2 metres from others
  • 30 minute time limits on newspapers and computers
  • Books can be returned, please use the return slots located on the outside of the building
  • All programs and clubs cancelled
  • MyBookBag is available for free book delivery: ilibrary.co.nz/mybookbag

Issuing & Returns

  • Return all books through the after-hours slot at the front of the building.
  • The after-hours slot will remain open 24/7
  • We offer free contactless book deliveries and pickup to all in the Invercargill and Bluff areas: ilibrary.co.nz/mybookbag
  • Patrons are encouraged to use self-checkout machines

Clubs & Programmes

  • All children’s and adult programming, including after-school clubs, will remain cancelled at Alert Level 2.

Public Computers

  • A reduced number of computers are available to maintain social distancing.
  • 30 minute time limits on newspapers and computers
  • APNK Wi-Fi is available

Archive
The Archive is open at Level 2. To ensure 2m social distancing between patrons we are strongly encouraging calling or emailing the Archive or Southland Oral History Project staff ahead of time to arrange an appointment.

Can I get books delivered?

You can order free contactless delivery of materials to your home. Visit ilibrary.co.nz/mybookbag to order.

Can I choose my own books?

Yes, you may come to the library to return books, collect holds or a pre-selected loan and choose and issue your own books. Assistance will be available however our staff will maintain social distancing.

Can I still study at the library?

Yes, you can study at the library. It is recommended that you use the allocated space on the first floor and you are limited to 2 hours.

Can I bring my children to the library?

Yes, however physical games and toys will not be available at the library during Alert Level 2.
