World Wide Knit in Public Day

World Wide Knit in Public Day began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company. Consider this a spark, to ignite a fire; getting all of the closeted knitters out into fresh air.

Spend as much (or as little) time as you like. Work on projects together, show off your latest knitting project or help someone new to the craft learn with tips and advice.

We will provide some extra needles and wool for people who may like to give it a go!

Build a fort at the Library and read stories with your whanau!

Would you love to be in the Library after it closes? Do you love stories and fort building? Then this event is perfect for you – a fun evening for families with young children (or grandchildren)!

Bring your whanau and listen to the best stories we have handpicked by our librarians! Then, once the Library is closed, use all of our props to make your very own fort and enjoy reading by torchlight together as a family.
