Non-stop storytime! Keep your children engrossed while learning to read with TumbleBooks

Library members can now browse, watch, and read TumbleBooks, which offers a huge range of animated talking books for kids of all reading levels. TumbleBooks also provides other databases aimed at different audiences – check them out below!

What are TumbleBooks?

TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. TumbleBooks are created by taking existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you.

Catch your breath and have a yarn with other parents at DUPLO Picnic! Your toddler will love playing with our DUPLO LEGO with the other kids while you kick back and enjoy a well-deserved break.

Following on from Active Rhyming each Tuesday at 11:00am, feel free to bring your lunch and we’ll put the jug on!

Continue your toddler’s journey at the Library with Active Rhyming. Be part of the fun while your child develops new skills through rhymes, play, and movement! Building upon Wriggle & Rhyme, support your toddler as they interact with the world. Recommended for ages 2 – 6.

Make your child’s visit to the Library extra-special at our weekly Storytime. Kids will be delighted by a magical tale read by one of our storytellers. Recommended for ages 3 – 6.

🏍️ Get your kids off the couch with the Baby Burt Munro Challenge! 🏆

Calling all bikers and decorators!

To celebrate the annual Burt Munro Challenge returning for 2020 we will be holding a bike decorating competition here at the Library! Decorate your bike using whatever materials you have available and meet up at the Library for the big show!

🔨 When?

You have until Wednesday 5 February to decorate your bike so it truly represents your personality. You can use cardboard, paper, fabric, wood – whatever to make your ride stand out amongst the crowd.

Work on your bike at home and then bring it in on the big day! The show will begin after 4:00pm, with each bike being judged by a collection of trained bike enthusiasts.

✂️ Who?

There will be two age groups with separate prize pools; kids aged 5 – 8 and 9 – 12 years.
