Refurbishment Update: Changes to Adults Fiction access, returns and building hours.

Stage 3 library move

From Wednesday 22 to Wednesday 29 of August the Library is moving across the corridor to a bigger space. There will be limited access to all the collections currently on the ground floor during the move.

From 23 August – 27 August the Adult’s fiction area will not be accessible to the public. Books from this collection can only be borrowed by request.

We will be starting the move with Adult fiction, followed by Large print, Young Adult material, Graphics, Audio books, magazines, DVDs and multimedia, with the Children’s collections being the last to move.

Our clubs and programmes will continue to run during this time, however may be in a different place. Our staff will be available to retrieve specific books for you during this time however these collections may not be available for browsing.

Adult non-fiction, biographies, newspapers and computers will still be freely available upstairs.

We apologise for any inconvenience during this time. Please ask if you have any questions.

Car Park

The start of Stage 3 will affect access to Dee Street from the Car Parking Building before 9am.  At present the Library access doors open before 8am to allow people to walk through to Dee Street. Unfortunately during this stage of refurbishment, these doors will not open until 9am. There will be signage to advise that access to Dee Street is available by exiting the orange side door on Level 2, and using the lane between Speights Alehouse and Tuatara Backpackers.

Again, we apologise for any inconvenience.
