Family Build-a-Fort Night Event – Registrations now closed

Date: Friday 8 June
Time: 6:30 – 8:00pm
Registrations required!

Do you like reading stories by torchlight under your blankets? Do you like building blanket forts around the house? Then join us for an evening of stories and fun at the Library!

We will start our evening off with a selection of stories, and once the library closes you will be let loose to rearrange the furniture and build the most amazing blanket fort you can! You’d better be quick though as we will be turning off the lights to make sure your reading by torchlight experience is the best we can offer.

You will need to come prepared for this night of building fun with a torch (or two) and some blankets to make your fort with. We will provide everything else. If you are interested in attending this event, then register now!

World Wide Knit in Public Day

Date: 9 June 2018
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Where: Invercargill Public Library

World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company. This a specific day to get out of your house and go to a local event (with your knitting in tow) just for you and people like you.  Who knows you might even bump into your neighbour! Consider this a spark, to ignite a fire; getting all of the closeted knitters out into fresh air.

This year the Invercargill Public Library will be running its first World Wide Knit in Public Day event, and we want to see you there! Spend as much or as little time as you like. Work on projects together, show off your latest knitting project or help someone new to the craft learn with tips and advice.

Tea and coffee making facilities will be available. We will provide some extra needles and wool for people who may like to give it a go.

We want to hear your thoughts. Take our quick customer survey and you could win!

We would like to hear from you, our public!

Let us know what you think about the services and events we offer and let us know your suggestions about things we do well and things we can improve upon.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes of your time, please complete it online by clicking on the link below and you will go in the draw for a $100 voucher.

Be sure to let your friends and family know too. We are your library, so have your say on what we do.

Survey closes 31 May 2018.
