    ESOL & IELTS
The ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) & IELTS (International English Language Testing System) collection features workbooks, level appropriate materials, and audiobooks to help those learning English.
    Newspapers
We hold recent copies of most local and national papers, accessible upstairs in Information Services. We also store historic copies of the Southland Times and Southland Daily News on microfilm. Library members can also access newspapers online.
    Local Collection
The Local Collection includes books, directories, maps, CDs, DVDs and other format items relating to Invercargill, Southland, Stewart Island, and other southern islands. Some early Otago items are also included post-1860s when Southland became a separate province.  We try and obtain a copy of all published material either with local content or by a local person for people to freely access.
    Research Collection
The Library provides access  to many resources useful for research, including war, school, and Government records; a large collection of historical newspapers, in paper and microfilm formats and much more.
