Librarians summon Captain Planet to become Plastic Free

Do you love the environment, and books? Then you will love our new initiative to go plastic-free.

In line with moves being made by major supermarkets, our Library is keen to promote more eco-friendly borrowing practices. Starting 1 November, plastic bags will no longer be provided. To help smooth the transition we will be selling our Library bags for half price during the month of November.

We want to do our part to help promote environmentally friendly practices. We provide great book bags and hope that the half-price sale will encourage more people to use them.

Over 40,000 plastic check-out bags are dumped in landfills every hour in New Zealand.

So be sure to bring your own bags starting 1 November, or for one month only purchase a Library Book Bag for $1.
